Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. Research in and around the Wilds

Giraffe at the Wilds

Karla took a picture of me and one of the inhabitants of the Wilds. We made a trip to the Wilds to visit the field site where Karla Moreno Torres, a graduate student in Preventative Veterinary Medicine, is conducting research in and around the Wilds to understand the transmission of infectious diseases between exotic wildlife, domestic wildlife, and livestock. Karla focuses on Neospora caninum, a protozoan parasite, which is known to cause abortion in cattle potentially causing substantial economic losses for farmers and the Wilds.
