IFD data published in Movebank Repository

The IFD data from our Current Anthropology (2014) and Land Use Policy (2019) papers is published in the Movebank Data Repository.
This dataset describes the distribution of mobile pastoralists in the Logone Floodplain, Cameroon in the month of February in the years 2008-2016. Each individual in the dataset (Animal ID and Tag ID) represents multiple human pastoralist households with their herds of cattle. The data were collected from mobile pastoralists who spend most of the dry season in the Logone Floodplain in the Far North Region of Cameroon. The population consists of about 500 households divided over about 60 camps and includes Suwa Arab and FulBe pastoralists. The location of the campsites was recorded with a handheld GPS in February of each year and the number of animals was estimated by the researchers by multiplying the number of herds in each campsite with the average herd size of each group (i.e., Arab Suwa or one of the different FulBe groups).
