Pallavi Orunganti is a Denman Winner

Hunters in Ohio.

Pallavi Orunganti has won third place at the Denman Undergraduate Research Forum for her poster presentation Hunters' Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices towards Wildlife Diseases in Ohio. Hunters are at the interface of zoonotic disease transmission between humans, livestock, and wildlife. To understand the role of hunters at this interface, Pallavi used a One Health approach that examines the interrelationships between human, animal, and environmental health. In her thesis, Pallavi examines the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) of hunters in Ohio with the assumption that knowledge of diseases does not necessarily translate in safe hunting practices.
